❤️ Don't miss out -- start your Lily of the Valley Roots journey today!
Lily of the Valley is ideally planted in early spring when installing them directly in the ground. If you prefer planting in pots, you can do so at almost any point during the spring season.
Lily of the Valley thrives in partial shade, but it can also tolerate full shade, although it may produce fewer flowers in such conditions. Opt for well-draining soil and amend it with manure and compost. Rather than placing it in a perennial garden, select an area where Lily of the Valley can spread and serve as a groundcover.
Loosen the soil to a depth of 12 inches. Make sure the hole is deep enough to accommodate the root length, leaving about an inch of space above the crown. Then, backfill the hole and lightly cover it with soil.
Note that you will most likely not see a bloom the first year, so be patient and watch for the flower the following year.
Water Lily of the Valley weekly for the first 4-6 weeks after planting, but once established, it becomes drought-tolerant. This plant requires minimal maintenance, and often, the foliage remains green even after the flowers have withered completely.
